McHenry Country Club is proud of our state of the art Learning Center which opened in 2001. This practice facility includes a bent grass tee area measuring 100 yards long and 40 yards wide, providing ample room to rotate tee locations and guarantee a plush hitting area daily. The target greens are bent grass to provide accurate feedback as your golf balls land on the green. A two-sided pitching area allows for a 60 yard approach from one direction and 95 yards from the other. Greenside bunkers enable you to polish all aspects of your game. A putting green located on the east side of our Learning Center offers green speeds equal to those on the golf course- few clubs can claim such a "reality check" at their practice areas. McHenry Country Club's comprehensive practice facility is among the best in Illinois, making instruction or just warming up a great experience for everyone.

Our beautifully manicured golf course is the top priority of Course Superintendent William Humphres. In addition to maintaining the beauty of the course, Bill and his staff deserve credit for creating some of the best putting surfaces in the Chicago area. The combination of subtle undulation and tilt with typical green speeds ranging from 10.0 to 12.0 stimps gives a whole new meaning to "the short game"
